Poem for a Life Well-Lived

In the halls of SVBGH, his legacy stands tall,

John J. Krueger, M.D., remembered by all.

For over three decades, his service shone bright,

A pathologist's touch with keen insight.

From the Medical College of Virginia, he came,

Armed with knowledge, passion, and a revered name.

To patients and physicians, his commitment was clear,

A beacon of hope, dispelling their fear.

As the city's Assistant Medical Examiner, he'd stand,

Piecing together stories, with a meticulous hand.

In the corridors of EVMS, he taught with great zest,

Imparting knowledge, ensuring students were best.

Chairman of the Credentials, his leadership did soar,

Ensuring standards, integrity, and so much more.

As a delegate to the Medical Society, with pride,

Representing Virginia Beach, with stride side by side.

In many an organization, his presence was felt,

With leadership roles, making challenges melt.

Civic and professional, his influence spread wide,

A pillar of the community, standing with pride.

For Dr. John J. Krueger, his legacy's profound,

In every corner of the city, his memories resound.

A life dedicated to medicine, and the community's call,

We salute you, dear doctor, for giving your all.
